Ashley Orlando is a classically trained soprano whose first love is jazz. After discovering the ukulele, moving to Texas and meeting jazz instrumentalist Kenneth Fowler, this Louisiana native jumped head-first into the Houston music scene. When Ashley’s not performing with her band Vintage Point, she and Kenneth lead Houkulele, Houston’s Ukulele Club.

At age 53, Kenneth Fowler first picked up an ukulele he found on a coffee table top in a small house in Hanalei. Eight years later Kenneth’s journey continues; helped along by his teachers Sarah Maisel and Craig Chee. He shares his love of music through performing, jamming with friends, co-leading Houston’s ukulele club, teaching school groups and private lessons, giving volunteer concerts at assisted living centers, hospitals and last September, a successful benefit concert for the Ukulele Kids Club. Kenneth feels especially privileged to perform music with Ashley Orlando.

Based in Melbourne, Chantelle regularly travels and performs at ukulele festivals all over Australia. Her rich vocals blend beautifully with the ukulele as she performs originals, well-known popular music, and more recently, jazz standards. She also teaches a local ukulele group, sharing her love of the instrument with her community.

Diane Nalini is an award-winning jazz singer, songwriter and teacher. She has released four critically-acclaimed albums, with her fifth, 'Future Perfect,' just out. Diane has performed at jazz festivals around the world and given gala performances for President Bill Clinton and Sir Paul McCartney. Her original songs have been used in films, TV and video games. She is also the resident vocalist with the Ottawa Jazz Orchestra. After misadventures on the nylon string guitar, Diane discovered her “Goldilocks” instrument: the ukulele! Gerald Ross is comfortable with just about every type of “roots” music there is, and he plays it all on guitar, lap steel, Dobro and ukulele. He’s performed in concert with Bonnie Raitt, Arlo Guthrie, Doc Watson, Johnny Gimble, Riders In The Sky, Brownie McGhee and many others. Gerald won the Solo Artist Category of the 1993 WEMU Jazz Competition and has appeared many times on “A Prairie Home Companion.”

Gerald is one of America’s best-known performers, entertainers and advocates for the ukulele. He’s released seven solo CDs, published instructional materials, and is very much in demand as a music festival instructor in the United States and abroad.

Gracie Terzian is a singer, songwriter, and ukulele performer and teacher living in NYC, originally from Northern Virginia. International recording artist  Herb Ohta, Jr., is considered to be one of today’s most prolific `ukulele masters. The son of `ukulele legend "Ohta-san," he started playing at the age of three, and teaching at the age of nine. He now shares the music of Hawai‘i and the beauty of the ‘ukulele with people around the world, performing and conducting instructional workshops.

His recording debut was in 1990 on his father’s recording. Since then, Herb has recorded on over 50 recordings with 13 Solo and 13 duet recordings to his credit. With 16 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award nominations, he has won 6 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. Herb and is a four-time Hawai‘i Music Award Winner as well. Herb has released 3 national releases in Japan, 1 in Taiwan, co-authored two ‘ukulele instructional books with Grammy Award artist Daniel Ho that was released in Japan and the United States, and in 2015 Herb published a songbook of his arrangements in Korea.

Ukulele-toting-mouth-trumpeting-songster Victoria Vox and guitar-slinging-singing-jokester Jack Maher reconnected 18 years after first meeting at the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA). Since eloping in 2016, the two have been writing and performing together in between their own gigs. Stylistically it’s a bit Americana, jazz, folk, and pop, but really, there are no boundaries. Both hold degrees in Songwriting from Berklee and have the passion for making music. Jack and the Vox are based in Costa Mesa, CA.

With 3 completed nominated albums to his name Kalei Gamiao been at the forefront of today’s ukulele revolution since 2008 when his debut album, “Contemporary Ukulele,” kicked up the demand for performances in the U.S market. Raised in Hawaii, Corey Fujimoto was immediately hooked on ukulele after picking up the instrument in fourth-grade music class. Corey was influenced by his father, other renowned ukulele virtuosos, and his love for classical music. He transcribed and arranged pieces by Bach, Mozart, and Pachelbel for ukulele - helping pioneer this exploration - which in combination with his traditional Hawaiian influences developed his style. He released his first album of instrumentals, Fables, in 2013, which earned him his first Nā Hōkū Hanohano nomination.

Mary is the director of the multi-award-winning Grand Northern Ukulele Festival (GNUF) in England. She is also Professor of Creative Media and a Director in the School of Media, Film and Music at Sussex University. She has produced festivals, tours and other creative projects on multiple continents. Matt Stead is an ukulele teacher from The Forest of Dean in England. Having been teaching for many years he has taught thousands of students and helped make ukulele be seen as serious instrument in the U.K.  A performer as at many of the U.K. and Europe’s festivals, Matt composes and plays his own unique form of filmic instrumental music. Nicole Keim is an artist, performer and music educator who lives in Hood River, OR with her husband Aaron and their 5 year old son Henry. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education and taught K-5 elementary music for nine years in the public schools while living in Colorado. Nicole now teaches singing to adult learners at ukulele festivals, helps Aaron run their musical instrument business (Beansprout), handwrites/illustrates instructional music books, travels and performs with Aaron in their duo (The Quiet American), hand embroiders art and hair accessories (Marmalade Creations) and helps Henry navigate through this crazy world! It’s rare when an artist arrives on the scene offering a refreshing new spin on a traditional genre of music. Steven Espaniola is that artist. Raised in Aliamanu, Hawai’i and now residing in the California Bay Area, Steven is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in Ki Ho'alu (Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar), ‘Ukulele, Upright Bass, and Leo Ki'e Ki'e (Traditional Hawaiian falsetto). Of Hawaiian, Filipino, Chinese and Spanish descent, his ethnicity is as diverse as his unique sound which preserves the integrity of the traditional with a flourish of the modern. In 2007, Steven's musical efforts earned him the recognition of "New Artist of the Year" at the Hawai‘i Music Awards. He has contributed several informative articles to Ukulele Magazine and continues to be very active in the 'ukulele community teaching at many of the country's top 'ukulele festivals.

The Dirty Hillers is a ukulele and cello duet comprised of members Melissa Nannen (ukulele, lead vocals) and Erin Ryan Barnes (cello, vocals).  They are based in the Philadelphia, Pa area. Their music is an eclectic mix of rock and blues inspired alternative/folk originals, featuring raw, dirty vocals. The Dirty Hillers was born out of a need to express observations of the world we are currently living in and as a serious dodge of housework.

Bruddah Sam and Lina Girl are a husband-wife music-making team that hail from Windward Oʻahu. Both have been playing music professionally for over  30 years with their respective groups (Vaihi and Nā Waihoʻoluʻu o ke Ānuenue). They are most recognized for hosting a local TV show called Local Kine Grindz, sharing all the cool local mom & pop eateries as well as Hawaii’s top entertainers. Nowadays, they concentrate  on the music via social media, free ʻukulele classes and impromptu jam sessions at their home in Kāneʻohe.
